I got shows in other countries that I'm so not ready for...physically and spiritual wise. Oh and there is the little issue of me finessing my MC game before the summer. And getting out of debt before my first show overseas in March. I need sum time to get my nuts and bolts aligned, you smell me? Like a couple of weeks or months. Don't worry though I'll be back...wid sum new shit...promise....

New News

Music brings people together in so many ways. Case in point I haven't talk to my ex boyfriend/ex fiance/ex fuck buddy (yes all one person) in like a month. All because my "best friend" wanted to get involved in my personal life. But anyway I happened to be featured on a track he was supposed to be on. I recorded it yesterday. He has been telling me "good work" since this morning (New Year's Day). Oh did I mention I was playin the part of a sexaholic? I was moaning throwing in sum choice phrases like...you gotta wait to hear the song. I actually did rap but because of time constrâints niggas cut 8 of my 16 bars. Why did that feel so good with him teaching me how to deliver? Why did he have be one mixing it down? Why it felt like old times? Why I love this little nigga so much? It felt good to come together about music besides the old why you fucking this wack bitch, why niggas in our business, beating each other senseless in the lobby and various different schemes we cook up together. All that smiling, directing, praising that shit was tight. I know its gonna be good this year

Then I went to pops house

R.I.P. to the Starving Artist

To be honest I like stripping. That's my shit. I like being on stage and entertaining and making people happy, so to speak. I quit and stayed jobless for like 3 months because I let certain parties guilt me into not wanting to do it anymore. And I'm not going to lie. I was starving in the streets. I went without a lot of necessities and forget about shit that I really wanted. And the types of things I like to do require mozarella. And I don't do nine to fives...was never really my style. Don't call me lazy...I prefer non conformist. I'm not a 9 to 5 person more like 10 to 2. Can't really take orders gotta do my own thing. If I wasn't stripping I would probably work at Barnes and Nobles. The literature would be worth being ranked an underling.

In any event this bit of the blog is dedicated to the haters

7 People Who Have a Worst Job than Being a Stripper

1) A doctor that administers vaccinations w/ known side effects to babies
2) A policeman who arrests 16 year olds for loitering and send them to bookings
3) The judge who sends a non violent drug dealer to serve his time with rapists and
murderers, in turn teaching that man how to be violent and/or a killer
4) A teacher that feeds our babies propaganda bullshit in the public school system
5) CPS that doesn't do their job or wants to fuck with a family just cause....
I'm not even going to go there
6) The people who own BET for telling us we aint nothing but swingin chains, ass and
gangsta rap
7) The "pass the bucket" minister who uses your donations to keep his plethora of
rainbow colored gators maintained...

Randomly Walking

I bumped into Sciryl and Charles Hamilton last night. IT was kinda awkward because I been engaged in booth genocide, then got caught in the rain and was having a bad hair day. But there was love there. It's good to see my ppls doing their thing. Sciryl just came out with his album S.C.O.O.P. (Slight Change of Plans) and Charles was on the the cover of XXL this month.
It was inspiring. Nah thats corny. It gave me a jolt to see my niggas accomplish and pull off something better than great because it came from them organically no ready made shit. Sciryl been on his grind since 14 @ Urban Word has been on DEf Poetry Jam and anyone who is an early Charles listener remembers him roaming the streets of Harlem letting everyone hear his latest hot shit (lol memories of summer 07)
This newness in the game is so good. Owww!

Why Pan's Labyrinth is my favorite movie of all time

And most people know its because the main character Ofelia reminds me of my friend Channel; Living in her fantasy world, rebelling against authority, confronting monsters to get by and the ending when she passed abruptely. I cry sometime I see the end, but it's a good cry, a cathartic one. In my nostalgic and emotional way I liken Ofelia's descension to her 7 Circular Palace to Channel ascending to wherever. That's it...aint know more. Had to honor my passed ones on a Sunday.

Black Kid's Fairytale

It's going to be the best poem I've ever written. I was inspired by The Complete Grimm's Fairytales. Most people think there are only like 10 or so Fairytales; Jack and the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood (It's Little Red Cap in the book), Snow White, Rapunzel and Thumbalina. In actuality there are about 210. My poem is basically referances to all of them. I dont know if I want to tie in several stories or focus on one main chracter. But I'm laying the groundwork.

My Other Cousin

You know Silky my sister in law, comrade, secretary and life coach lol. But nah for real we found out today that her great grandmother Jaunita was my grandfather's 1st cousin. Now technically that would make us cousins by blood. Now aint that sum hotness.
I find this funny because we was going everywhere telling people we was sisters or cousins and it just happens to be true....sometimes I swear I'm my own genie.

I'm feeling great today...

Constellation of a Block Star in a Dufflebag Near You

Yeah its been a long hard process. Much blood sweat and tears. Much leafing through my notebooks I been keeping for the last 3 years. But finally after my 10 years in the poetry game I'm self publishing my first compilation of poems and prose. Owww. I'm muy happy with myself I never thought that last year around this same time I would be publishing a book of any scale.
I had much time to reflect on these things. After coming out unscathed in the streets of Harlem and Brooklyn, 3 asshole boyfriends and occasionally run ins with the NYPD (figurative and literatively) and the death of my childhood friend Channel I was still able to produce work of substance. Even though I had vowed to myself at one point that I would never write again because I was finding out how ugly the world is and I didnt think writing about it would do much (how stupid was I?).
She never left me I just thought she had. Who can appreciate beauty without sunlight?

I love a man dedicated to my vagina

I watched a lecture from Dr. Donald Torry. He is mad cool. Sexy and older (yummy) He is the only doctor I've seen thus far that looks like Rick James. Attire and hair, everything. He basically broke down how you suppose to having a period is good. Real deep shit I cant go into. But I highly recommend the tree of conciousness series...its a collection of lectures, documentaries, autobiographies, movies and news reels for the people that reside outside the matrix. Availible on the dvd stands on 125th.

Vegetarianism is reaffirmed. owwwwww!

cool random weekend

Little boys from the Dipset block (151 b/w amsterdam and broadway) are so funny. I was walking up the road and this little boy ran off the stoop, stopped right in front of me, rub his hands down my thighs and smacked them. Now obviously if this was a grown man I would have been pissed and swinging, but it was so innocent. He probably seen his mother and father doing that. Lol. His mother snatched him away and was laughing hard too but the shit was so random my lil sister wanted to take a pic. We did. And their mother who was like 9 months pregnant was selling nutcrackers so we got the strawberry daquari joints and it turned into a completly funny night. I love Harlem.
